How Our Food Bank Works

Getting Support Made Simple

Most visitors come through a referral from trusted partners like Citizens Advice, Welfare Benefits, or Health Visitors.

No referral yet? Don't worry, first-time visitors can contact the Salvation Army directly for immediate help.

Want to Make a Difference?

Donations keep our shelves stocked and our community strong. We welcome non-perishable food items and toiletries, which can be dropped off at our Harrington Street centre or at local supermarket collection points:

  • Morrisons Docks
  • Sainsbury's Deepdale
  • Asda Fulwood.

What's Provided

The food bank offers essential cupboard staples such as pasta, rice, tinned vegetables, and long-life milk. Increasingly, toiletries and household items like shower gel and toilet paper are included to meet growing needs.

Why This Service Matters

Food poverty in Preston is real and rising. In 2024, the food bank processed over 2,100 referrals, and by mid-2025, more than 1,400 referrals had already been received.

Many users are working families struggling with soaring bills and food prices.
