The Research Centre at Deepdale Stadium - part of the National Football Museum - is looking for new volunteers to help us share and celebrate football's incredible heritage.
Whether you're a lifelong fan or simply curious about culture, this is your chance to get involved.

Tour Guide Volunteer
Bring Deepdale's history to life with stories and passion. Tours run around once a month on a rota, so you'll join a team of guides who make each visit memorable.
A great role if you enjoy talking to people and sharing heritage.

Collections Volunteer
Get hands-on with football's past by researching, cataloguing and caring for the collection.
Roles are project-based, usually one day a week for a set time, giving you the chance to focus on completing specific tasks and contributing to the collection's future.

Researcher Visits Volunteer
Support researchers exploring our fascinating resources. This role is one day a week for six months, after which it's reviewed and rotated so others can join in.
A rewarding role if you enjoy helping people and supporting research.

Experience our work
We'd love for you to come along and see our Journeys to the Match Exhibition at the Lancaster Archives, which opens Friday 24 October 2025 and is free to attend.
This will give you a feel for the kind of activities and stories we share.
Volunteering Insight Day
Join us on Wednesday 20 November 2025 at Deepdale Stadium for an introduction to volunteering with us.
You'll meet the team, learn more about the roles available, and hear from current volunteers about their experiences.
Volunteer Training
For those who wish to continue, we'll deliver a training session on Wednesday 29 January 2026.
This will prepare you for starting your volunteer role with us in the new year.
