Celebrate pride in our city with Proud Preston Awards 2026

We're thrilled to announce the launch of the Proud Preston 2026 Awards, a heartfelt celebration of the people, groups, and businesses that make our city such a special place to live, work, and thrive.

Brought to you by the in partnership with , and supported by and , these awards are all about recognising the everyday heroes who go above and beyond for their communities.

From carers and young leaders to local businesses and volunteers, the awards shine a light on the incredible contributions made across Preston's neighbourhoods. Whether it's someone who's always there for others, a group making a difference, or a business that gives back, there's a category for everyone.

Vanessa Sims, Editor of the Lancashire Post, said:

Councillor Susan Whittam, the Mayor of Preston, said:

"I'm honoured in my role as Mayor of Preston to meet some amazing Prestonians doing amazing things, from all walks of life, and this will be a fantastic opportunity to formally recognise their efforts at a glittering event where everyone can feel special and celebrate their achievements together."

Councillor Valerie Wise, Preston City Council's Cabinet Member for Community Wealth Building and City Regeneration, said:

"We're delighted to be working with the Lancashire Post and co-media partners Blog Preston and Central Radio on what we understand to be the first community awards of its kind and scale for Preston.

The Proud Preston Awards 2026 will bring businesses, the public sector and the voluntary, charity and faith sectors together to celebrate and honour our unsung heroes, everyday people who go above and beyond in their daily lives to help their fellow neighbours, friends, family and communities.

As part of the city's commitment to Community Wealth Building, we value everyone's contribution, and this event will be a fantastic way to help do this."

Get Involved in the Proud Preston 2026 Awards

Winners will be honoured at a special evening of celebration on Thursday, 19 March 2026, at , a night to remember for all involved.

There are lots of ways to get involved, including nominating someone who inspires you or supporting the event through sponsorship. Every nomination helps tell the story of a city full of heart.

The event will be covered across a variety of platforms, including the Lancashire Post online and in print, on Blog Preston and on Central Radio's airwaves.
